NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING

The Stones-Bengard Community Service District Board of Directors have prepared preliminary budgets for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2012.  Budgets will be posted for public inspections at SBCSD Fire Hall at 509-695 Stone Road, Eagle Lake, Susanville, CA 96130 and at Bucks Bay Bulletin Board.  Board hearing will be held on August 20, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. at the above address for adoption/rejection of the 2012-2013 Fire Department Budget, adoption/rejection of the 2012-2013 Sewer Assessment District Budget, and adoption/rejection of the 2012-2013 Capital Improvement Budget.

FIRE DEFENSIBLE SPACE CLEANUP: Susanville Indian Rancheria Offering Defensible Space Cleanup

The Susanville Indian Rancheria's Natural Resources Department is offering free yard debris clean up and haul away for FIRE DEFENSIBLE SPACE for residents that are unable to handle such a project.

This service is being offered from June 18, 2012 through October 12, 2012.

Burn Permits are REQUIRED through June 30, 2012, for burning debris in small 4-feet x 4-feet piles

Clear all flammable material and vegetation within 10-feet of the outer edge of pile.Maximum pile size 4 foot in diameter.

Keep a water supply close to the burning site.
An adult should be in attendance with a shovel until the fire is out.

No burning shall be undertaken unless weather conditions are SAFE (particularly wind)

 

No household trash or garbage can be burned outdoors at residences. Dry,

natural vegetation, grown on the property can still be burned outdoors in

open piles, unless prohibited by local ordinances. Burning can only be done on

permissive burn days. Burn permits are only valid on “Permissive Burn Days” as

determined by the State Air Resources Board or the local Air Pollution Control

Violations Of Any Burning Permit Terms Are A Violation Of State Law

Bly Tunnel valve closure picture sent Fri, Feb 3, 2012 8:10 pm

This is a picture that BLM sent to Dr. Buck Bateson showing them shutting and locking the valves in the Bly Tunnel .  Let's hope this "Lock" is secure.  This has been a long journey and we will have to continue watching for activities from the downstream users...we may need to continue with factual input should they choose to keep fighting.  but for now...we can claim a major victory.
